National Doughnut Day 2010|Free Doughnuts|Doughnut Receipes

National Doughnut Day is an American holiday celebrating doughnuts or donuts. It falls on the first Friday in June every year. National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to raise funds during the Great Depression, and to honor the work of World War I Salvation Army volunteers who prepared doughnuts and other foods for thousands of soldiers. This year, June 5th(tomorrow), is National Doughnut Day. Why do you care about this? Because it is your opportunity to grab yourself a free doughnut. And as we all know, free doughnuts have no calories. On National Doughnut Day, look to see if your local doughnut shop, or other organizations, are offering free donuts to solicit donations for the Salvation Army or for another needy cause. If you find them, please be generous by buying them to your taste and enjoy yourself.
